A: Well, if you're looking for entertainment, you're in the right place. You can get f**ked up six ways to Sunday and still not see all of the bars (on that street). Really though, there are some great restaurants and nightclubs there. If you're into odd mammalian flight patterns you can check out the nightly bat flight from the Congress Ave. Bridge near the Four Seasons Hotel. If you are not vegetarian, then you can try some of the famous BBQ joints in town (I prefer Ruby's Organic BBQ on West 29th, but there are also Stubbs, Iron Works, Rudy's, Lambert's Downtown BBQ, etc. ask any six people and get six different responses usually). For nightlife you can try Emo's (all ages usually), 6th St (obviously), and the Warehouse District (kinda part of the 6th St. area). La Zona Rosa on West 4th & Rio Grande is great for Tex-Mex food and live music (Squeeze, Stereolab and G Love and Special Sauce are there in Sept.). Even if you sleep on the street, you can't help but have a blast in Austin. (and no, I don't live there...)
