Cannot Decide about the Move to Boston!?

Q: So I got a job offer to work at a physical therapy clinic at a place in Medfield, MA but there is no public transportation to get there. I would basically be moving to Boston for this job(it's at the Kingsbury Club), so a) is the commute from the city, or surrounding areas of Boston in a honda accord, to Medfield bad, this includes traffic winter weather etc.? b.) what is a good place to stay that is affordable and between the city and Medfield that is on the T and not the commuter rail. I really wanted to move to Boston for the Bike-Walk friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed walking and being in the city but I'm mostly concerned that if the job offer is in Medfield that I won't exactly reap those benefits if I'm outside the city a lot, meaning I will be driving at least an hour everyday and than in addition to that I will be living outside of the city. Does anyone have any suggestions of whether this is worth move, or do you live outside the city are are still able to get to Boston without it being a hassle and $$..or should I stay in Atlanta and wait for something more suitable to come along. Thanks for any suggestions, I have to decide today! UGH!

A: you can absolutely reap the benefits of living in the city without actually living in the city... it's not that difficult to get in and out of the city. i suggest you live closer to where you're going to be working. then you won't be stressed over a commute. and in your free time just drive to the nearest t-station from wherever it is you end up living, take the train into the city, and do your thing. it's cheaper to park and take the t in than it is to drive into the city and pay for parking there. when i lived in ma i lived 35 miles south of the city, and it was no problem for me to just take the braintree t in on my day off or something, and do whatever i wanted to do for the day. i suggest you make the move, because on top of how great boston is, the kingsbury club is really nice too and i think you'd really enjoy it. and if you give it a go and find it isn't for you, then you don't have to stay, you can always move somewhere else!
