A: The national capital was moved to the District so it would not be in any state and to be farther south. Where John Lennon lived doesn't have any effect on anything in the government. I am not sure who everybody is, but there are lots of cities that are well known and are not the national capital. There are many countries whose national capital is not the largest or most well known city in the country.
