Q: Could someone please let me know if Battery Park in New York is near east 24th street,in Manhattan? By near I mean is it walking distance perhaps a 5-10 minutes or less? IS battery park near FDR drive? Please let me know soon. Thanks in advance.
A: Battery Park is a pretty long walk from E.24th St., and it's so easy to get from one to the other by subway I suggest you do that. Here's what you do. At the northern tip of Battery Park you'll see the Bowling Green Station. You will recognize it by it's decorative entrance. From there take an uptown 4 train to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. There, while still in the station transfer to an uptown 6 train and take it to 23rd St. When you climb up to street level, you'll be at E.23rd St. and Park Ave. South. To answer your other question, yes, Battery Park is pretty close to the southernmost point of the FDR Drive.
