What I get for someone celebrating a birthday at Disney World?

Q: This isn't a little kid, this is my boyfriend and he's in his 30's. I don't want a whole cake at a restaurant but that's the impression I got when I called for reservations that night. I've read the give buttons out but those are just for the kiddies, right? Can I call back and ask them to put a birthday note beside my dinner time about a birthday?

A: The buttons aren't just for kids! :-) They have "1st Visit", "It's My Birthday", "Just Married" buttons (and more) --- and many adults wear them. You'll find lots of Cast Members (Disney employees) and guests wishing him a happy birthday during the day -- will definitely put a smile on his face! As far as dinner goes, Disney doesn't bring a freebie dessert (like most standard restaurants), so buying a cake from them is the only way to go if you want a to-do -- and they are huge cakes (and, if you're staying in a hotel, it's difficult to store it later). But, yes, you should call and let them know about the birthday -- they'll make a big deal of it and y'all will have fun!
