Q: I know you can only use the dining plan if you are staying at a disney resort, but if i book the hotel room alone not through disney, can i call disney and add the dining package? Thanks.
A: It depends on how the room was booked. The Dining Plan is only available with a "Magic Your Way" package that includes a room reservation and at least a one theme park ticket per person. Sometimes room-only reservations can be converted to a package either by telephone or when you check in if you purchase your tickets at that time. It all depends on how the room was booked and how it shows up in their computer system. You would need to call Disney's agents at 407-939-7675 to find out how your room reservation is in their system - they should be able to tell you then if you can upgrade to a package with the existing reservation.
