Q: im 18 turning 19 next month and ...i plan to move to sacramento,california next summer of 2009,i want to know if i can make it with $7,000 to $10,000 by paying off a $650 a month apartment for 6 months and paying electricity up for 6 months at the same time look for a job while im there and find me a cheap car aswell and this is if im smart with my money which i am,so can you please help me figure out what would be helpful for me in this process....i wan tot start a ne wlife there im very determined im ready for this i kno the ups and downs and good and bad of things.......im more than ready i can get around by foot or bus until i can get me a car,i just need opinions good ones on the finacial part of this.....and if anyone lives there then maybe you can fill me in on what i should be ready for when i get there,please help me i need all the opinions i can get,oh and what are good areas or neighborhoods i could live in where a nice apartment comples is and stores and everything
A: you aren't going to find a nice apartment for $650 a month and you can't pay an electricity bill 6 months in advance. I take it you have never lived on your own. You also have to pay for gas, so you can take hot showers. you can probably live off $10K for 2-3 months, I suggest moving into downtown, so you can walk or use lightrail and buses to get around until you find a job.
