A: From San Francisco, take BART to Richmond. From there you can buy an AMTRAK ticket at the Richmond Station, then go upstairs to the train platform and jump on the next train to Sacramento. It takes about three hours each way. The cost is about $50.00 round trip. On your return trip you can buy a $10.00 BART ticket for $8.00 on the AMTRAK train.
