Q: i might move to seattle for collge or either portland.im just getting prepared. I wanted to know if anyone new if there is a good university in downtown seattle??/

A: There are 3 universities in Seattle. The biggest one which you have probably heard of is the University of Washington (UW). It is located north east of downtown and you can easily take a bus between downtown and the campus. Its a public (state supported) university so tuition is cheaper. http://www.washington.edu/ There is Seattle Pacific University (SPU) located on the shores of Lake Union. Again, its not in downtown, but bus travel is pretty easy. Its a private Christian University (I'm not sure what denomination of Christianity). http://www.spu.edu/ There is also Seattle University. Many people confuse this with Seattle Pacific University but its actually an entirely separate university with no connection to SPU. Seattle University was founded as a Catholic School although its open to all students with no restrictions on religious beliefs. Other than a few religious symbols and a small chapel on campus, you wouldn't even know it was founded as a Catholic School. Seattle U is located just east of downtown on what is called First hill. Its not technically in downtown Seattle but its only about 1 mile away (up a very steep hill). http://www.seattleu.edu/
