Q:

A: I'll I can say is good luck. The selection of good live music in this city is diverse, but a talented hip-hop scene there is not. Anyone with real talent and a potential for a career as a hip-hop focused performance artist leaves the city immediately and only returns to sell out the White River Amphitheatre 20 years later. A good DJ is your best but nonexistent bet and any out of town hip-hop acts charge a pretty penny. Now that I actually read your question I see it says a bar/lounge that PLAYS good hip-hop, and there are a bunch of those. Neumos, The War Room, Chop Suey, Nectar and a bunch of others in Fremont off the top of my head. The acts change daily so check a Seattle Weekly or The Stranger for complete city listings, it will save you time.
