Q: I'm a student in rolla, with no car, and my home is in St. Louis. I'm not planning to stay there for 1 year straight of course and been trying to figure out how to go back and forth from Rolla to St. Louis and vice versa on train (or may be busses).
A: I'd forget the train but the Greyhound bus is always an option. They have a station in Rolla behind the McDonald's on Kingshighway but they don't sell tickets there. You would have to get tickets by mail and it takes about a 10 day lead time to get them. There are lots of St.Louis students that go to Rolla and have cars and travel back home. If you check around I'm sure you will find someone who will let you carpool to a drop off St.Louis location for the cost of splitting the gas. The students that I know that went to Rolla never had a problem finding a ride home if they planned a little ahead of time.
