Q: How far apart are the St Louis Amtrak station and the closest Metrolink station? When the new station is done they will be in the ame building, correct? Are the 2 stations currently walkable if you have luggage? How much would a taxi for 3 people and luggage be? How about a taxi for 3 people and luggage to the airport, 18 miles away? My parents and I are arriving on 9/7. I was hoping the new station would be all done, but it looks like it might not be. Thanks in advance.
A: Amtrak and Metrolink are close and are walkable even with luggage. Taxi rates keep changing due to the cost of gas but my closest estimate would be about $50 plus tip but at this point it could be higher. That's what it cost from my home last time I took a taxi and I'm thinking the distance is fairly close to your estimate of 18 miles. I'm not a math whiz but here's the rate for yellow cab. $2.50 first 1/10 mile and .17 for each additional 1/10 mile. $1.00 for each additional passenger and $2.00 fuel surcharge. Of course you will have to add gratuity on top of this for the driver.
