Has anyone ever applied to Mercy Ministries of America before?

Q: If so, if you were accepted how long did you have to wait to go to the home to begin treatment? I applied for myself and after several long months my application was finally sent to be reviewed for acceptance and now I am waiting to hear if I am accepted or not and I am just curious to know of an approximate length of a waiting list.... For my sake I hope I am accepted because I am not sure how much longer I can last on my own and its not like I can afford to go to counseling as I do not have a job and I am in the middle of filing for bankruptcy. For the people that want to tell me to go through my county for therapy; I already did that and it did not do me any good... just added more stress because it was just another bill to add to my collection pile. I am afraid that they wont accept me at all because I am currently not getting any form of therapy.... I don't know what I will do if I am not accepted... I just know that I am not getting any better here at home with my parents. I know I am a little high strung but I don't know what else to do or where to go when I know that there's a glimpse of hope just out of my reach until I know for sure what is going on. I just need help

A: I think that you've shown a great desire to improve your life because you have tried alternatives, realized they didn't work, looked for another solution and have made the effort to get accepted. This looks great on your application so don't sell yourself short. You should feel free to call them to see how the application process is proceeding. Waiting lists for various programs can vary depending on the number of current applicants so only the program admission office can give you an estimate of wait time if you are accepted. I know that it's hard to be patient when you are in need but the wait can certainly be worth it. In the mean time at least consider some alternative therapies such as tai chi or yoga for relaxation. If you feel depressed or out of control, please remember that there is help available and that you are not alone.
