You are allowed to have 35% tint or lighter. anything darker will get you a repair order telling you to remove the tint. The are people here that use window tint for blocking sunlight and/or adding to the customization of their car. I have 20% tint on my white maxima which is still illegal but Most like dark tint so people cant stare you in the face at the traffic lights and so car theives cant see in your car. On the flipside, car theives may break into your car if you have very dark tint because they are curious to see whats in your car. Its all on your personal prefrence and personal tolerance for risk taking.
