Q: Im a sopohmore in NHS, JROTC, Varsity Band, Varsity Golf, and Student council. Involved in Jrotc colorguard, sabre guard, and honor guard, i am current jrotc as1 and play trumpet and baritone in band. So how do I get into annapolis and do I have a chance?
A: I went to college on ROTC scholarship with good SAT scores, good grades, high GPA, a lot of extracurricular activities. Actually NROTC scholarship at the time required separate examination which I did well then went to interview in front of selection board however I did not pass medical physical bec I caught pneumonia my senior year in high school but I was later offered 4 year Army ROTC scholarship. My brother-in-law was highly decorated Vietnam Combat Vet and went through Officer Candidate School. His son, my nephew and his sister as well are the ideal students (Tops in Everything - grades and athletics as well). Nephew got US Naval Academy appointment from US Senator in their home state and he graduated from USNA Annnapolis with Mechanical Engineering degree, then served commitment on Nuclear Submarmine. He got out and turned down good job offers and went though FBI Academy and today is FBI Special Agent. Hope the Above Info Helps!
